The Verge

Located: Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre
By Susan Glaspell
Directed by: Mimi Sears

Step into the mind of Claire Archer, a visionary botanist defying societal norms in post-1920s America. In her greenhouse—a lush yet confining world—she cultivates not just plants, but entirely new lifeforms, each a symbol of her relentless pursuit of autonomy. As those around her seek to control and confine her, Claire’s obsession deepens, driving her toward a chilling breaking point. A gripping psychological drama, The Verge explores the fragile balance between genius and madness, creation and destruction. Will Claire’s vision flourish, or will it consume her?
